have our own server yet? I was in Big bear for the weekend and haven't played in like 2 weeks. Last I heard, CAIN was thinking about it.

I doubt he will now. It's been out too long for Cain to just now act. New FPS's are coming out soon.

Yeah but an infantry only server is kind of dumb being that the Fog of War limits airplane movement and the vehicles are so easy to blow up now.

Also- I dont think the weapons limitations you like to put on the servers are relevant in this case either, as it seems to me that there are many many ways to ruin a snipers' day.

I wish you guy's were running a server but, then again my game play style has changed. Or I actually should say the servers I play on. I prefer a FF on use the whole map type of servers. There are a quite a few of those It would be nice for Cain to have one but, oh well. Thanks for at least thinking of it.

I'll take this one. EA made it impossible to anyone to run their own server, on their own server boxes. As you should know by now- If you want to run a server on BC2, you must purchase it from gameservers.com or some other certified server provider. I don't believe Cain enjoys paying for something he can do for free (Obviously server up-keeping, but that can be done from his house.)

A 32 slot server is only $40 a month. I'm sure if you guys volunteer to pay for it as long as it runs then he has no problem with running it. Just throwing it out there.

A Quot from one of the admin today who is a friend and this taken from a pm talk over steam chat today so this may shed some light on why cain can not put up a BFBC 2 sever.


{CLR}Dead_and_Gone: the few times we have been online same time, you were in full servers, and i couldn't join.. *&)&*)&&*() but i have been playing alot of TF2 to wave the flag for Cain.. Trinity, his server people, haven't had enough interest in BBC2 to offer it. And from other server owners, it is a big PITA to setup and keep running. Cain was VERY interested in running one, but it just isn't going to happen because of Trinity. He wasn't real happy with the forum comments. We were actively working behind the lines to get one going, and i even donated $100 american to push it along, but there are issues

Unfortunatly i dont remember the website i found it on but the site has scripts posted to fix most of the basic problems people have been having with bc2 crashes, friends list, and the server browser.... google for it u might find it.

Really how about the annoying CTD on map loads. Seems I can play for at best 6 rounds before crashing and now sometimes trying to connect to a server results in a CTD. Very annoying

I have always had it under serious consideration, but after this weekend it is looking more and more likely to happen soon... For you the bummer may be I prefer Central US Servers, so you will have to contend with a higher ping than we had yesterday.

Will you play there if I do ?? Even if it is almost empty ?? (although the game was really fun yesterday with only 4-5 of us, wasn't it!?)...

yes it was cain my ping was not that [ad yesterday it was about 180 considering I'm in the uk and the sever was a Central US Servers

That server we played on yesterday is an East Coast US Server.

If you were pinging 180 that is amazing, considering this game adds about 100 ping to the ping in the browser.

For a Central server you will probably add only about 30-50 ms of ping.

Dallas was home to our BF2 and 2142 servers. My other choice would be Chicago, where my Tribes server was hosted through.

Chicago does VERY well for our friends in Canada, and the West Coast, while still working well for the folks in the Southeast, like me.
