Well I was able to get on a server and not long after SighKopath joined in and we played several rounds of Rush. I'm still getting the feel of the game but what a blast. :2thumbs:

The VOIP worked for a few minutes then it broke up. The squad stuck together regardless which contributed to the fun.

Aye, that was some good times. Finally got a bit of VOIP, too! That's a first in this game.

I think I definitely prefer rush to conquest now... the rounds are longer, and feel like they have more meaning. Also, higher scores :D

Anyway, I kept playing for quite a while after you left. Got my first two Ace Pins, and *so many* more unlocks... felt like I was getting two per round.

I started the night at rank 9, am now rank 11. Woo, rush!

Thx Jeffro....

Multiplayer will allow players to choose from four weapon kits before the start of each match. These kits include Assault, Engineer, Recon, and Medic. Each match will give players experience, and kit related experience points, allowing players to specialize their kits. Experience points will be gained by each opponent killed and when an opponent is killed, the points gained will be displayed on screen. A dog tag system has been included in the game. If a player is killed with a melee attack you collect their tag and that information is stored in your profile and additional experience is given. There are four different gametypes:

Conquest: Players must capture and hold flags for as long as the enemy respawn tickets hold out. Every kill makes the enemy lose one ticket, and enemy tickets constantly decrease when a team controls more than half of the flags on the map. Vehicles unlock as control points are held.

Rush: Players must defend or destroy pairs of M-COM stations for as long as the attacking teams respawn tickets hold out. An M-COM station can be destroyed by planting a charge, using conventional weapons, grenades or when a building is collapsed down on it.

Squad Rush: Rush mode played with only two opposing squads and one M-COM station.

Squad Deathmatch: Four squads and one Infantry Fighting Vehicle roam the map. First squad to fifty kills wins the match.

Each gametype has specific maps only available for that gametype. Unlike competitors such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, who use the peer-to-peer style hosting systems, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 features dedicated servers support.

cain, if your planning on putting a server up i think there is a waiting list... you might want to look into that, if you haven't already done so.

Ok..that got me all kinds of excited. *looks down* yep, excited! I tried to say this is the cleanest way I could. If we have our own server, I will never play any other server. Since I missed out on the TF2 server b/c my bro stole my game for his Steam acc. I hope and will be praying for this to happen. <3 you CAIN in the most straight way a guy can love another guy. lol

Conquest is the mode you are thinking of Cain...the exact same mode that we played in BF2

If you want me to show up I only play Rush, or HC Rush (a lot more camping, but hey! I can do that too.) Come to think of it, me showing up isn't a great incentive

Instead of flags that you take you have to take a couple of points called Mcom stations. Once you take them then two new points pop farther into the defenders territory until you reach the final two points. I think the HC you refer to is hard core which is more of a setting then a game mode.

This is my limited knowledge of this game as I have not been able to play as much as I would like theses days but I think it pretty close.

When defending you hold on to a pair of stations as long as you can. If they are both taken out you fall back to a new pair. Repeat. Either the defenders run out of fall back stations or the attackers run out of tickets.

Conquest is capture the flag, try to hold the flag and drain the other guys tickets. They try to do the same.

Plus you get to fly a toy helicopter for about 8 seconds until it gets shot to pieces.

HA HA HA ... I hate those things. I dont mine working the toy heli as long as I have someone to watch my back.

But if the enemy has the heli, they can spot my tent, porta potty and my food. So when Im recon and have my tent up, I'll shoot them down quickly :flak:

Sounds like Rush is newer mode, conquest is what we played for BF2 ??

Also, Rush sounds like Day of Defeat, right ?

it sounds more like UT3 in the sense that you need to take one node before you can move to take another....

Rush - here's another detail

Mobile map boundaries prevent either team from moving to the next pair of mcom stations before the current pair have been lost. Allows a few seconds before it kills violators.

A heli can maneuver some distance beyond the boundary, but that's suddenly bad when I need to bail out. Very bad.

Except once you loose the Mcom stations they can't be taken back so it's all ahead for the attackers and falling back for the defenders.

Snipers don't fall back...we stay and fend off attackers in their own base. boy do they get angry. It's not spawn camping either. I wait for them to move around a bit too. give them a chance to spot me. Some do but they still die. 1 shot 1 kill for me. I've perfected the sniper. Getting used to running targets going uphill. they run downhill is easy. aim at their waste and fire. Btw if you stand still too long, I will splatter your brains on the guy behind you. Love what the soldiers say when someone dies right in front of them. Those auto-responses make me laugh so hard.
