Should you be able to strap C4 on a teammate or enemy and when they run into a big group of enemies detonate?
I personally would love this if FF was off.
I think EA/DICE should add an option to servers that lets you do that.

No way, That would make the game very boring, very fast. The game would just be people podding into groups and detonating the demopacks. It's not much fun when EVERYONE in the game is 1 kit.

It lame and is up there with bunny hopping and jihad jeeping. At the same time its all fair game IMHO.

If I recall correctly, EA mentioned that they had the idea of being able to do this in Battlefield 2. However, since the war was going on in Iraq and such, they felt it was a touchy subject and left it out.

You can strap c4 onto a squad leader drone though.

Lame, lame, lame. There is nothing worse than sitting there helpless while some guy runs through your bullets, tosses an RDX pack at both your feet, sets it off, and runs merrily away, unhurt.

If he died too, I'd have no trouble with it.

Wait! If he doesn't die, then it isn't suicide bombing, is it? :D

Is it possible to turn on self damage but leave FF Off?

that's what I want to see. I have no problem if they die too. Nothin I hate more than to have them bunny hop around drop rdx get blown up and have them run merrily away unscathed.

the fact they can throw down rdx and jump a the same time is very very lame.

Things like RDX, Nades, and anything obvious should hurt you should effect teammates and yourself.

should stop the no-death spamming.

Historically, the only organized military (such ans the MEC, wich I perceive the be the Iranian regular army, perhaps?) To really endorse suicide attacks were the Japanese of old. Combine a fanatically patriotic zeal, a losing war, and a the promise of great honor, and ad din an airplane..there ya go. In phase of the Iraq war where we were fighting the Republican Gaurd, suicide attacks were unheard of. They did fight dirty, of course. Luring US and British troops in close with surrendered troops, and then ambushing them, yes. Sorta like how I'll kill a player in 2/2142, and then pick off the pointhungry medics who try to revive him. To be honest, suicide attacks and exploding cars are not a part of any organized military. Hell, the suicide insurgency agains the US is really gaining sway in Iraq only. It's a rare day when you hear of suicide attacks in Afghanistan, perhaps because it isn't a political powder keg like Iraq?

Anywho, the only way I could justify Jihad Jeeping was being an insurgent in BF2SF. Because..well..your an insurgent..
In Fallujah. duhr.
Any other situation is just lame.

An armies job is to kill the other side. Using your trained troops as suicide bombers is self defeating.
As Patton said, "No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country".

"Play as if it's your only life" is sorta how I do it on 2142. Usaually works out well.. The philosophy goes to hell when I try to get my explosives badge, though. :P

Ha, same here. I normally hate the people who run around detonating RDX at point blank range, but I did it to get my gold explosives badge. I tried everything else, and nothing was working.

I am having trouble dicerning whats more surprising to me; that its tolerated to use gimp tactics by charging into a group of infantry and blowing an rdx charge? Or that just as many kills can be accieved by deliberate and patient placement in key areas and used slightly defensively, and have it be the experience it was meant to be.

RDX planted on the battlefield is the equivalent of a laser fence to ALL units on the battle field. The only thing comprable would be an APM or motion mines.

By using it thus, you can channel anything onto a different course that quite probably will spell alot more kills overal, for your team, and those that dont row down a different course have to pay the price...

Used like this its fun because you have to gamble on the scout still being alive, and just how big a trap you are dealing with, and just how bad a bottleneck you have to deal with.

If anything, EA should put a hardcoded minimum safe distance on RDX, on the order of say atleast 5 meters so that there is some ballance to its power, because on a ff=on server playing with pro's that dont use gimp self-det kamikazi tactics, the only time they are any closer to its use at close range, is behind a wall, wich actualy takes a little practice to execute without throwing the satchel in a bad spot that kills the user.

This I can respect on the battlefield.

Wasn't that uncommon in Vietnam to have people self immolate after running into an American bunker. BOOM.

Nope, I don't like that RDX bouncing ball, but don't see a recourse atm.
Strategically placed RDX is as good as APM's IMO. I'm in no stretch as good as some I've seen on YouTube, but the option IS there.

Every time I put some down at a flag to blow up the bad guys, I usually wind up dead before they try to infiltrate.

BUT, I can see where you can rack up some serious kills, like at Camp Gibraltor at the cracks in the wall, or at the choke points for Jeep kills. Especially later in the game, those places get LOTS of traffic.
