More PB problems

Well i tried the recommended step above with a manual PB install. It didnt work. I can connect, but the second i shoot someone i get kicked.

in the console it says "warning: server is running an older version"

Then when i get kicked i get this message.

Run the pbsetup thing again..

You need PB running in the background as a service, and it is not.

ill do it again, but i opened my processes and saw punkbuster A + be running....

Sorry cain, still no luck. I opened up task manager and verified i had punkbuster A and B running.

I ran punkbuster setup and punkbuster svc.

WEll, i think its on Cain's only. i can go to other servers fine, its only Cains that kicks me :(

Take another SS of the exacxt message you get, and I'll also check the server logs.

What is your EXACT player name ??

Bacon, you do not have the correct PB Services running, that is what that error means.

Thanks cain, not sure what to do here. ive done the manual setup about 30 times. taken down my firewall and other things.

I just reinstalled and updated PB and I now have the same issue also: The PB i have is Client v2.028 | A1394 Server v1.618 | A1394 | C2.028

Highlight COD4
Click Update

also, first DELETE ALL files in your COD4 PB folder...

I just bought CoD4 because the TF2 server is empty most of the time, but everytime I kill someone I get kicked by PB.

Yep, same issue i have. Send me your email address via PM, i have two files i need to send to you. Its what fixed the issue for me.

You may try deleting al the PB files, and run the PB Setup thingy again.

I deleted every single PB folder related to CoD 4 and installed PB again. It didn't work, I still get the "PB version too old" message.

Do the Punkbuster Set-up as Cain says but if all else fails PM Limey
he has a file that works fine. Simple .dll file the has all the correct settings.

Thanks a lot for the help, I got the two dll files and now the game is playing perfectly.

Now time to get my butt kicked while I try to learn the layout of the maps.
