Well for the PS3 Beta what they did was give Fileplanet X amount of keys to hand out along w/ posting keys on the BC2 Twitter page. This was in addition to giving out keys to those who decided to pre-order from the usual places. So my guess DICE will follow the same plan w/ the PC beta.

Rand, as Duke said, these will be similar to the other EA games in that you rent a ranked server...or you can run your own private server but it will not be ranked.


We've known for a couple of weeks that the PC version of DICE's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will have DirectX 11 graphics options. Now, as Shacknews reports, game producer Gordon Van Dyke has revealed a whole list of additional PC-exclusive features.

The exclusive additions range from support for private servers and bigger multiplayer games to compatibility with Nvidia's 3D Vision stereoscopic scheme. Here's the complete list:

* Up to 32 Players on PC (24 on consoles) - Play with up to 32 players online in the biggest multiplayer Maps in Battlefield. Each with a different tactical and gameplay focus set across a variety of environments.

The destructible elements are what make BC2/BF'43 different from BF2/2142 and thus the tradeoff is smaller player counts to keep things smooth. My guess DICE will market BF3 for the large server crowd but it won't have the same destruction features as BC2.

Just from my brief time w/ MW2 and comparing that to the PS3 BC2 Beta I would say the sprint/run speed seemed pretty close. Although in Rush mode the sprint is a godsend when everyone takes off w/ all the vehicles and your left to leg it across the map...:pissed:

Well you have to realize this a sequel to Bad Company not BF2 so it's going to have more of a arcade mix compared to the semi-realism feel of BF2. Expect faster gameplay and way more action but believe me the strategy is still there just on a smaller scale.

I personally like Rush mode since it's based on objectives where the defenders get unlimited tickets so you can get into some real meat grinders w/ the attackers...:D

I had it on GS, but since the game is linked to ur EA account really there is no point from reseller view to have it on DVD media. Alos u have like 10 times in total to install the game after this its blocked or something like that. So i cancel GS nad got it on steam. price is the same , LE extras are the same but one, GS copy have Ak47.

Well i just got a chance to play it for a few hours and really like it. The sniping is cool and all of the cool unlocks for the guns as well as actual new guns is always fun to work to get. My favorite guns are the snipers and the xm8 with the extra ammo attachment or smoke nades. Havent got the mortors unlocked yet but ill see how they are.
Ill post more when i have played it a little longer. Only rank 6 now.

B&N is just the marketplace as it states "Available for Pre-Order from GameStop". Still a great deal if you don't care it's not the LE version and waiting a bit for shipping. BTW if your a bing user you get 10% cashback too...:2thumbs:

You'll have to start a ticket with steam support. They charge your cc when you "pre-order" (actually a pre-purchase, check first page) unlike other places that charge when it's released. They are usually good with canceling orders as long as the game isn't released yet.

Got a transport of doom up last night. I forgot to record it but we never died and killed anything in our path. Gold medals all the way around. Pilot was an engineer with armor perk, gunner was me as assault for ammo as well, then a medic and another engineer. btw tracer darts are not only awesome for heat seeking capabilty with missile but no longer have to spot enemy but if you do, you get tracer dart points and spotting points when someone kills it.
