I like Will Smith as an actor. I saw the preview for this a few days ago and it looked pretty good.

Anyone hear anything more about it? I hope its not a flop..

Though I am a sucker for post-apocalyptic movies, so even if it does suck, I'll probably still go see it.

I am completely excited about this movie, however since I know nothing of the plot and have just seen the trailers, I am worried that it will end up looking too much like a resident evil knock off. Is there any substance to my worries?

A few tid bits of movie information from IMDB

Warner Bros. Pictures has owned the rights to the book since the 1970s. The studio first attempted adapting it in 1994 with director Ridley Scott, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, which fell through when the production went over-budget. And then in 2002, Michael Bay was set to direct Will Smith, but they decided to make Bad Boys II (2003) instead.

The studio spent an estimated $5,000,000 for a 6 night shoot in New York involving the Brooklyn Bridge. To film in this location, the producers needed the approval of up to 14 government agencies. The producers had to bring in a crew of 250, plus 1,000 extras, including 160 members of the National Guard in full combat gear.

Just got back. Fairly good, not great. If the trailer for The Dark Knight were longer, or I had an IMAX near me playing the six minute exclusive footage, that would be about as good as the movie--it's just that cool.

Dark night the batman one?

As for the movie, it was okay, but like duke or rand said (whichever one it was, damn avatars) it wasn't great.

It seemed short, but wasn't, and the finale was suppose to be emotional, but I felt more "sad" for... well I don't want to spoil it.

I do recommend it, it's just not a horror film, just an interesting plot. Although stuff DO pop out.

Anyone notice the tiny easter egg in Times Square? I'll just cough it up because it's cool: there is a giant billboard there with the Superman and Batman logos superimposed on one another, with a release date of 5/15/09.

It would be awesome if that is indeed a hint on Warner's part that such a movie is finally in the works. :2thumbs: Christian Bale is probably free right now, so the issues are still licensing, and getting Brandon Routh (since the sequel to Superman Returns is due to film soon).

I saw the movie on Saturday night and made a post on Sunday...weird, I don't see the post.

I saw that bilboard and it would be really cool if they did make a movie like that.

I had issues in the movie with the zombies. They were way too alien like to make them believable. With all this screaming and abilities to jump really high and stuff. I so much prefer the zombies from 28 days later, which gave a real sense of humans getting infected and not humans becoming mutants.

But overall, the movie was good.

Notice how all the cars are Fords and all the computers are Apples. hehe.

I think that is for the Justice League movie.

Doubt it, for two reasons. The first is that the Justice League movie isn't all about just Batman and Superman, so I seriously doubt they'd limit an ad to their two logos. The second is that it's not slated until 2010 at the moment.

I was the movie twice allready and loved it. There's nothing after credits in case anyone was asking but I was saw two different Batman Previews. One was the opening scene and the other was just plain BAD A**. The Preview leaked online and most sites shut it down but you can find it!
