American capitalism gone with a whimper - Pravda.Ru (http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/107459-1/)

An interesting take from a Russians point of view. Last month I flew with a First Officer from Romania. He came here without a dime 6 years ago and now owns a home and is flying for American Eagle. He can't believe the direction this country is going and has many interesting stories about growing up under communism.

I pulled a few quotes from the article, it's an interesting read.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

The American Society of liberalism is confused with incomplete views on fairness. I am going to say this: just because you havent enjoyed the last president, does not make Liberal/Socialist governments a better way of life.

When no one is allowed to fail, you have socialism.
When only a few are allowed to lead, you have Marxism.
When no one is allowed to object, you have slavery.

You all saw how Obama attacked anyone who did not "hurry up" with his agenda. You have seen just this week how the fact that the man who attacked the Recruitement center was a noted Black Panther is omitted from the news. And you have seen how the government is in "ownership" of a significant portion of the free market assets. And now- GM is under ownership of the US Govt.

Where do our differences compare to Russia, Venezuela and China now?
