Who Controls the Internet? (http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/016/515zoozk.asp)

Very excellent article. I didn't think that an international organization to control internet domains/names was a good idea in the first place, and this makes some really excellent points. Besides, we invented it in any case :D

Wow, if the United Nations got control they might have a vote on whether or not to make me change my name...on second thought, that might be kinda cool, I could pants the guy who delivers the declaration, after I tear it up and shower him with the confetti. :D

I think this is a crappy article. Starting with the headline "Who controls the Internet". I wonder if the "journalist" wants to get a reaction here?

In any event I don't necessarily think that an international org to control DNS would automatically be bad for America or bad for the world. As long as it has a clear mandate stating what it can and can not do....

However I feel that pushing for that change right now has no leg to stand on. Currently IANA has an excellent track record on the management of DNS. So why bother.... Oh yeah my newspaper has money problems so lets write an article about nothing and make it seem like America is loosing some tactical advantage....That'll boost sales
