Im with Duke on this one. Do you even understand how the business world works? or is it all just one conspiracy to screw everyone in sight from your point of view?

The article is clearly giving middle ground by pointing out that he was at Gilead from 88 to 2001. That being said, you would think he would be a solid investor in his field.
So he had insight and foresight to invest well and sell when it was most profitable. Jealous much?

You also have to understand government, whereby it is required that he hands over his financial decisions to someone else when he took his position- so if a Financial Trust was formed with an independent group, they usually [we may need to get BlackArrow in on this one- :D] Buy low and Sell high. It's a mechanism of profit that enables us to be satisfied with what would be consider by most a positive outcome.

Ehhh. Gut feeling. I do understand a little of how laboratories work...and the possibility of a virus being mistakenly released seems very remote. That's all. I guess they just forgot to close the door or something.

It like a bit of a stretch to think that someone would do this for money. I could see someone trying to get it for terrorism but to build up your portfolio I doubt it.

Yes. I believe it is a bit of a stretch. But at the same time, nothing would surprise me these days (we've seen money make folks do some pretty twisted things lately, with little regard for anything but their own gain). I just thought I'd throw the idea out there...knowing that it would generate discussion. By exploring the extremes, we might come nearer the truth.

I have a problem with conspiracy like this. I just don't see it. I also by the way don't fear any bio terrorism. Bio terrorism is just not effective at the non state player level. Look at the Aun Shun or whatever they're called. The Japanese cult that did nerve gas in the subway. Well that was like their 4th attempt at bio terror. Whats funny is no one even noticed the first three attempts and in the final attempt only 2 people died. They also had a fair amount of money to play with and they just plain failed.
