Don't forget to throw bags of English Tea into the Atlantic Ocean to show the repressive Brits you won't put up with being taxed by officials you didn't elect.
Oh wait...

The Charlotte, NC Tea Party was great. I'll pictures posted in due time.
I have for years thought that we were being taxed way too irresponsibly. It was amazing to be surrounded by people of all political persuasions who felt just I like do. If Bush's deficit spending was bad, then Obama's quadrupling that spending is terrible. Nice to be among a crowd who just spontaneously appeared all because we think alike and someone said, "come here if you are concerned about how money is being spent." I am guessing several thousand showed up.
Fact of the day for me: US tax payers pay more in taxes than they do food, clothing, and housing combined. My liberal-as-she-gets sister told me that.

Ours turned out really nice to. It was nice to see a good turn out from the state that brings you the likes of Bernie Sanders. I'm not too sure how many showed up but the crowd was bigger then I thought it would be. At the end a bunch of people walked into the state house where are legislature was hard at work bankrupting the state. It will be interesting to see how the local media covers it.
I was also glad to see young speakers and participants. It's good to know that there are some twenty somethings that get it. The crowd was also a mix of people from all walks of life and all political parties. There is a lot of pride in being a Vermonter so I have always been puzzled as to the nanny state mentality that is prevalent here. That mentality was not present at this demonstration. :2thumbs:
I could go on but I actually got a sunburn and I'm too tired.

I've been wondering where the people who attended these the tea parties were the last 8 or so years.
This isn't pointed at you as your qualified yourself but it raised the question in my mind.

This is a common question among many blogs out there and it could even be called a talking point. There are many of us who did not like the things Bush did to expand the government the problem has been that the opposing side was worse in these areas. Immigration and spending are perfect examples. There also many that were asleep.
The non partisan participation in these events is real and people are finding out that the power brokers have been getting us to focus on what divides us as opposed to what we agree on. Look at this post I made a while back. In there there are 9 principles I bet most people can agree on at least 7 of them. So it really doesn't matter where these people were for the last eight years. What matters is that they are here now so let all get together so in the next election we can vote for some real change.

And here I was thinking (before today) you were going to a real tea party. Probably because my community has a mansion from the 1700s in it, and they have tea parties there.

No reason to worry-
The last 8 years is another indirect jab at Republicans, and we all noticed. :2thumbs:

Thanks Guy! I can do sarcasm too.
I say the last 8 years because I'm young and it's the only presidency I was aware enough about to know any better.

Well people have been sleeping for more then 8 years. The problems we are facing started a long time ago. Just think of the taxes you are going to have to pay to pay for the Bush/Obama bailouts of bad behavior.
I would also suggest reading the 5000 year leap.
