Does this story make you a bit nervous about China owning some of our debt?

Chavez is on a butt-kissing tour. Nothing more.

Well in that case I guess one could ask Chavez how Obama tastes.

We are creating a new world, a balanced world. A new world order, a multipolar world...

We are creating a new world, a balanced world.

We are creating a new world

We are creating

We are

Bah, let them think what they want. China's quality of life comes nowhere near the US, same with most of the middle east and Venezuela as well. They have a long way to go before catching up with us there. Granted we don't have the best medical in the world, and our economy is in the drain, but this does not mean we are completely loosing our place as a dominate player in the whole "world power" scheme. Sure, China has some of our debt, but i'm fairly sure they have their own problems to deal with as well.

Exactly.... China really doesn't want to mess up a good thing (meaning they're relationship with us). Basically we buy they're plastic crap and they put their money in the most stable currency in the world (us). Chavez is just an attention whore windbag. Personally I believe he'll get booted soon unless he can start making more money off of his oil exports

Well the problem with this line of thinking is that if our market drops too much then our "importance" to them drops off too. To not look at them as a potential threat would be a mistake.

I would like to think Chavez will be gone but I don't think it will happen any time soon. The population of his country doesn't seem to mind him that much plus, he has Danny Glover on his side.:D
