right now i am installing like 5 of these, but so far my favorite is the reskinned k98 + aimpoint

I see where you are coming from, most of the models are just HiDef reskins of the originals, or other period appropriate weps like one that i saw replaced the Thompson with the M3A1 grease gun.

nope, but u have to install the files into the right folder, ex
dod>materials>models>weapons>NEWSKIN
(i may have models and weps backward tho...)

I already have the files unzipped to the desktop and i am trying to put it in the spot that u are telling me. Is that the issue gimmie?

I finally got it guys. I got the tompson to look like the gun from bf2142 like u have gimmie in ur pics and my m1 IS SILVER!!!!!!! It looks soooooo cool. Im not sure how to take a screen shot but if i find out i will post it it looks awsome. I think that my files got mixed up when i was putting them in so that might be why.

Replaced my K98 Red Dot with this new sight, and i find it alot easier

The bad thing about a game that allows you to skin something while others have the normal skin, is that you can easily insert glow cams into the skins. This is just an easy way for people to hack and see where you are. People used to do that in 1942 all the time. Plus if others aren't using that sight in particular, or any other mark up's than the playing field isn't the same. Sorry Gimmie, I'm not feeling these skins. It shows me that this game is too easily hacked.

There is a server setting that deals with what custom skins are allowed.

Using the 'sv_pure' setting, you can either allow custom content (skins, models, sounds, etc.) or not.

lets see what cain has to say before we jump to conclusions. This issue really hasn't been bought up yet from what i recall. in my opinion it takes so long to bring up your iron sights anyways, its still an even playing field. i rarely use my iron sights at all actually.

But thats just my opinion... lets see what cain wants to do.

I have download a few skins but have not installed them. Mainly I downloaded the skins for changing the uniforms & the skins that make the stock weapons look a little more better not the ones that have the aim points or modern weapons look.

I will what to see what Cain has too say before I install them.

if cain says no go then the skins or mods or whatever they are that show your fps latency and all that other stuff in the bottom right corner (or whatever corner you choose) will have to go. like jeffro said if you have to iron sight it then you have the wrong gun its not like they allow you to see farther or anything like that. well thats my opinion on it anyways.

Those are not mods. They are client side commands and are usable to anyone with the game.
