GameSpy and Epic today announced an agreement to incorporate GameSpy?s multiplayer technology into Unreal Tournament 3. Under the terms of the agreement, the technology, including multiplayer matchmaking, in-game and out-of-game messaging, deep player statistics, Voice over IP (VoIP) communication and a robust leaderboard and ranking system, will be incorporated into both the PLAYSTATION 3 and PC versions of the game. The news is from today. I think they have just tested some gamespy code with the demo. - The final deal instead was made today.

Actually it's probably bigger news for PS3 users since many of those features are usually non-existent on the console side.

I know the in-game and out-of-game messaging system will help since the PS3 doesn't have a in-game XMB feature.
