Yeah I'm pretty hooked on it. Best FPS multiplayer I've played in a long time. TF2 is fun, but there aren't enough maps...setting that one aside until that changes. UT3 is just UT2004 with a shiny coat of paint.

It is a ton of fun. I may be picking up the Xbox version as well. I'm playing the PC version right now. I'd only get the xbox version because people actually talk there. Not so much on the PC.

What ticked me off was the fact that COD 3 was console only. I don't care how great COD 4 looks ( I own 1 and 2) I am not bothering with it. Same crap, different time period. Not to say that I would have bought it where it another WWII era FPS,.. I wouldn't ... but after hearing G4 gushing how it will redefine the FPS shooter genre and solve world hunger, I was ready to throw up.

Im just the opposite. I hated cod 1 and 2. I thought code 3 was OK, nothing special though but not a bad game either. Now COD4 is no doubt the best in the series and id say its all around a better game than halo 3 is. being multiplatform is great to so no matter if your pc, xbox 360 or ps3 you can enjoy this game.

I wasn't even a fan of the cod series and i really like this game. But to each their own. I like how easy it is to get going. Just a couple click and you will be fragging in no time. I like how the maps are smaller as well. While you can snipe you can also be effective with machine guns or shotguns on the same map because buildings.

A buddy of mine came over this weekend who is a die hard wii fan. He saw me playing cod4 and almost went and bought a 360 just to get that game.
But in time like any fps im sure it will get old and frustrating, but thanks to not having vehicles it keeps from having the issues other games with vehicles have had.

and walking target its NOTHING like cod1, 2, or 3. its a tun better. i have 2, and 3 and they were ok. 4 its just totally awesome. its like a mixture of games and finally gives me the hype feeling of when i use to play Rainbow six 3 on orig xbox. i game hasent given me this feeling of excitement since that game 4 years ago.

there is honestly nothing like this game. it makes every other 1st person shooter look bad. its way better than halo 3 even. i played for awhile last night and had 25 friends on my friends list and only 3 out of the night were playing halo3 all the rest were on this

There are actually quite a few customs already out. Cain just doesn't put them in rotation, because until they catch on and more people have them, it just empties the server.

Cool..by the time I'm sick of COD and ready to hit TF2 again, there should be some pretty good standardized ones floating around then. :2thumbs:

Of course, this never-ending-fall-of-awesomosity-in-gaming isn't over yet, so it'll still be awhile before I get back to it. Mass Effect and Rock Band are going to tie me up for quite a bit, not to mention RE:UC and Ghost Squad.

So many games, so little time.
