I was curious as to how much work is involved (in general) in lowering a car by about 2 inches or so. Enough to improve handling, and then I think i'm gonna throw on some lighter wheels for better MPG. In the long run better intake and exhaust, but this is all I can do for now, and was wondering how much work is involved. thanks.

I've never lowered a car.

I'm not a "car guy". If you wanted to clip the wings on your super cub or do a taildragger conversion on a Cessna 150...I'm your man. But I don't know too much about suspension work.

Hatter do you remember the Pinto that was converted into an airplane. There were plans to market it but the airframe seperated from the car on takeoff and killed the crew.

suspention is a pain to work with, in order to lower the suspension on the cobalt im fairly shure your going to have to separate the suspension from the car make your adjustifications and then put the suspention back on that or it will be like adding on better shocks but in reverse, im sorry that i cant be more of a help without more information, but i make all my spare money fixing and selling cars... my last one a totaled 64 ford mustang i staightened the frame replace the engine and the whole interior and made it a convertible... 6 months work for $27,000 in my bank, curently working on a fairlane, if i get around to it ill get some pic's up of the fairlane.

The Pinto was never a great car. Especially if you were rear ended. :D

It's a fully stock 07 cobalt LT sedan, stock suspension, stock struts... stock everything but the tires.
