The no fly list stupidity

We all no the no fly list doesn't catch terrorist. It only catches people with the same names as terrorist. It's actually easily circumvented until they start checking ids at the gate. Thats why the new No fly list white list is just as stupid. From Bruce Schenier's blog

The House approved a bill creating a whitelist of people who are on the blacklist, but shouldn't be. No word yet about what they're going to do about people who are on the whitelist, but shouldn't be. Perhaps they'll create a second blacklist for them. Then we'll all be safe from terrorists, for sure.

The whitelist sounds good for those who got stuck on the blacklist and I don't have a problem with ACCURATE list of people who shouldn't be flying but unless they check IDs then it doesn't matter.

The week before 9/11/01 Mohamed Otta and on of his cronies did a test run on one of MY flights from PWM to BOS. Back then the "experts" had a whole different and much lamer approach to checking people that's why I don't have a problem with the idea of a blacklist but just like everything else the government attempts it just doesn't seem to work.
