When is my creed coming out? I mean uhh... Assassin's Creed (stupid Copyrights)
Anyways, when is it coming out? And when for PC. I really don't want to wait another month for this game :pissed:

According to GameSpot, the PC version has been delayed until "Early" 2008. According to Ubisoft, the PS3/X360 versions are still set on their current date, but the PC version was pushed back. I've heard that Ubisoft isn't planning on making the PC version a direct port from the consoles, but I haven't heard any confirmation from Ubisoft themselves.
So, maybe the PC version is going to get additional features? I'm not sure. I'm disappointed about the PC delay, though, since I don't own a PS3/X360 and really can't afford one at this point. Looks like I'll just have to wait a few more months before I get the chance to try it out.

Wow, a lot of middling reviews coming out.
Well, I was really gung-ho over this game....now I'm not so sure. I think this game suffered a bit from its own hype, which could explain why some are bashing what really seems like a medieval version of crackdown (which was also pretty fun yet repetitive game).
Maybe Crysis deserves my money more???
At least we still have Mass Effect next week :2thumbs:

a medieval version of crackdown
I was just thinking this exact thing earlier...it sounds exactly like Crackdown...a game fun enough that I don't regret buying it for $25 used, but I would've been pretty disappointed had I paid full price for it.
AC sounds interesting enough to play through once, and at 10-15 hours a rental should take care of that quite nicely.

Yeah, thats where I'm torn as well....
Crackdown was better than a rental title, if for nothing else than just running around messing with everyone (sitting on the freeway shooting out tires and watching the carnage just refuses to stop being fun  )
I can get this game for $40, and if its better than a rental, then I can always sell it later if I tire of it......but if it IS really that bad, then who knows....

Once I finish it I'll do a little write-up about it.
So far, I like it. A LOT.
while I'm only Approx. halfway through the game, almost everything about it pleases me greatly. Certain things about the AI are a little annoying (they are pretty dense sometimes), but since its a game, its not too hard to suspend disbelief (its certainly no worse than about 99% of the AI out there in other games :| ).
Best things so far:
-Free Running/Climbing
-Combat (don't listen to the naysayers, its actually pretty fun when you get into it with 5+ guards).
-Assassinations are cool 8)
-Getaways are mostly cool (AI, again, can be a bit dumb in this regard, but thats forgivable)
-Horse riding is fun and feels just right.
Some not so good things:
-Guards are tipped off to your presence a little too easily sometimes (normal speed horse = alert? LAME)
-Pickpocketing is pretty weak, but luckily you don't usually have to do it much.
-Not a lot of variety (assassinations are pretty similar in sequence)
So far, I think the biggest complaint most people have levied on AC has been its repetitive nature. But most of the time, this involves running/climbing and or fighting, which, while repetitive, are both pretty doggone fun. I mostly agree with Gabe's assessment. I think if you're forced to rush through this game, you can't stop to appreciate many of its subtle pleasures. Most of the enjoyment comes from immersing yourself in the world, not just rushing through it and having the game bludgeon you over the head with immersion.
If you approach the game as a canvas, rather than a series of tasks to accomplish, I think you can extract far more enjoyment out of it. Wow, this turned into a mini review

+1 indeed. I'm a bit pissed at some aspects of the game, but that doesn't effect the gameplay too much, you just can't do certain things.
I however have a bug in my game making me redo a mission or memory block w/e. It happened when I made a new version, and my brother wanted to try the game out when he got off work and he went to new instead of continue, it didn't save, but I had no objectives, and was told to go somewhere but I had no marker at all, and I couldn't reach the area at all.

WOO!!!!! I LOVE IT!!! I got at 6 or so, and it is AWESOME!
City-wide alerts are super fun... but when ure going in between cities it's kinda annoyin as when you gallop really fast a bunch of guards will be pissed and attack you... and it IS repetitive...
But combat is amazing, EVERYTHING but the repeaty bit is awesome!!!

No, No, and no.
5 hours? Maybe if you've already played it and are doing a speed run. Except this game is terrible for that kind of gameplay.
There aren't going to be "2 new cities" in the PC version. While they may add some content, its going to be close to the same game. Whatever content they do add (if any) would be minor......2 new cities completely changes the game.
If you just buy games to see how fast you can finish them, then Assassins Creed is a terrible purchase. But if you buy games to have fun and to experience the world that the designers created, then its great.
Premonition

Not to mention... if you bought the game once (2 citys would hardly justify buying it again for pc). If you dont like the game you can probably ebay it and recoup most of your money back since its so new and highly rated.
But i agree these games aren't ment to rush through just to try and beet. Like oblivion you could do it, but its way less fun and you will hardly get your moneys worth compared to the people who take their time.
Rovey Wade

If you go beat every optional mission before you make the big assassinations, there is no way you could beat it in 5 hours. It took me at least 10-15 (I wasn't keeping track).

There's no need to rush a game like this, and if you did, you're not getting your money's worth at all.

ALSO....
You can't beat the FULL game in just 5h...
Have you collected every flag?
Killed every Templar?
Reached every viewpoint?

Done all the secondary assassinations?
Eliminated the groups of 30 guards that occasionally roam the roads? :D

QFT.
I can see where the negative reviews were coming from, because if you just blitzkrieg this game it's very short and repetitive. But if you take the time to enjoy it (I'm having fun seeing how brazenly I can pick off random guards without getting caught, and killing a rooftop guard then hearing the screams when his body hits the plaza below never gets old), it's really well done.

And to all those that have the game already:
If you think the combat is too easy, try aggroing a bunch of guards (preferably ones with helmets or templars), and attack them with nothing but the hidden blade. Seriously.....I played through the entire game once without ever using this ability . Now that I've seen what you can do with it.....its ALL I'm doing (second time through the game :) ). Hidden blade counter attacks are some of the coolest kill sequences I've ever seen in a video game :o Makes you really feel like a real bad-ass assassin too :D
Oh, and lol at the Optimus Prime easter egg.....saw it before, still funny

I've noticed a lot of bugs, as in the Assassination of Sibrand, a lot of the guards during your escape jump in the water and suicide, making the escape a breeze (if Altair isn't retarded and jumps onto the posts instead of in the water as well)
And once, damn I wish I got it on video, I killed a guy, he landed wrong, and started doing flips and everything, acting as Mr Incredible getting strethed while doing about 900 rotation in 1 second. It was amazing.
I've also noticed that the ending is very easy if you're smart and use your best weapon...
And once, a guy was running away, but stopped near one of those wooden structures (that painters or carpenters use), I used my hidden blade to finish him off, and fell into the structure and couldn't get out.

Actually, when I'm in a crowd of hostiles, I prefer the long sword. It parries better than the short blade, and it has the best combo moves (some good counter moves, though the hidden blade counters are a bit more awesome IMO :D ). Now after playing with nothing but the hidden blade in combat, the sword and short blade feel like "easy mode"
For all out killing potential though, the long sword wins hands down. :2thumbs:

Speaking of easy mode, did anyone else flatout not die at all during combat?
Overall, I thought the game was a bit on the easy side. But a blast none-the-less.
(This is not an exaggeration. I didn't die a single time in a fight.)

I did when I didn't know how to counter.
Here's how to easily destroy a mob of enemies inside a city...
NEVER target them.
Run around, Grab an enemy, and throw them, run up to where they landed and hidden blade their ass in the neck.
The enemies won't attack you, they'll sit and watch and get disgusted, keep doing it. Grabbings one of the best things in that game during combat. Just grab and throw, and you have an easier chance to attack an enemy.
It was on the easy and the short side, I finally beat it, and I'm quite disappionted that it ended in a "omgzors magic" way, and also was very short.
However, worth 100 dollars to me

Yeah, the game lost a little of its appeal when I realized that the only reason to run from guards is for the fun of it. It's much easier, and usually faster, to just stand your ground and slaughter them all.

Yeah, once you get the hang of the combat system, it is usually the better choice. After I finished the game for a second time, I just started running around aggroing all the guards I could in Acre and having battles royale. The only time I died was when I accidentally fell into the water
Still a lot of fun....you get that sort of "angel of death" feeling as you just walk around laying waste to all that oppose you :evilfire:

Yeah, when you get tired of stealth, this game has the great option of aggroing guards and murdering them all.
Some changes I would make for this game is to lower the health massively. Once I got all the health I was fine the rest of the game.

Agreed. I would have enjoyed this game a bit more if stealth was the focus of the game, rather than just a minor tool in your repertoire. The fighting is fun and all, but it comes at the cost of any sort of real strategy when it comes to approaching assassinations or other situations. Only once or twice was I ever able to get in for an assassination and get out without a hefty amount of fighting or running. While both those activities are fun, they don't strike me as very "assassin-like". Between the lack of real stealth, the "sameness" of every quest in the game and those god-awful annoying drunkards/crazies/beggars, those are my biggest gripes about the game.
And yet, even with all those things, this is about the most fun I've had in a SP game in a long time (certainly this year). Certainly the first game I've played that continually makes me want to jump back in and play some more (already gone through it twice, now I'm roaming the countryside as a flag-hunting, templar-killing angel of death badass

Depends what you like. I myself have enjoyed being assassins in any game I played, and get pissed if someone "assassinates" me in Halo 3... but it's all good when I splatter someone with my ghost or Assassinate them with my sword. SWORD SPREE FTW! Anyone wanna 1v1? :D
I have no clue what uncharted whatever is, but if you can beat assassin's creed in 4 hours, I'm sorry to say but you really need to stop buying video games and enjoy them step by step. I play COD4 too much and I haven't even played it in 2-3 days because I'm bored of it.
It took me about a week to beat it, while enjoying the game everyday. You can assassinate people HOW YOU WANT, there really is no way. You can stealthy assassinate them by walking up in a certain direction, or you can charge in people. From where you enter to where you kill them to where you escape is all up to you.
